Day One

We departed Valdosta, GA heading toward Smokemont campground in the Great Smoky
Mountains National Park near Cherokee, NC. Kimberly started driving but traffic
was awful on I-75 so Scott took over near Cordele, GA. We stopped in Perry,
GA and again in Jonesboro, GA. We arrived in Cherokee, NC around 7:30 PM. We
found a campsite in Smokemont, on of the last few. We pitched our tent on site
B-15. We had hot dogs for dinner and went to bed around 10:00 PM.
