Blue Ridge Parkway Adventure

Day Three

Sunday, June 30, 2002
We woke up early and Scott packed up the outside. He also got breakfast and lunch items ready while I packed up stuff inside the tent. We ate Cheerios and toast for breakfast, then we made sandwiches for lunch. We left for Looking Glass Falls around 8:30 AM. We arrived at the falls and got the pictures we were unable to get the night before. We then went to Brevard, NC to the Wal-Mart to buy epoxy to repair the laptop stand which had been broken accidentally. We then headed back to the parkway to go on to Asheville. We took in the sights along the way. We drove by the Biltmore Estate and looked at the ticket prices, $34 a piece, and refused to pay that price to go in. We then found an outdoor store and bought walking sticks, ate lunch in the Asheville Mall parking lot. We then got gas and proceeded to Ingles to purchase groceries. We bought our groceries and got back on the parkway at about 2:00 PM. We stopped at the Blue Ridge Parkway Folk Art Center. We arrived at Crabtree Meadows Campground at about 4:00 PM, we set up camp at site number 50 we then drove to Little Switzerland looking for a restaurant for dinner. We then came back to camp so Kimberly could take a nap. When Kimberly woke up we took a walk around the campground to try out our new walking sticks. We then went out to dinner. After much searching we ended up eating at Western Sizzlin in Spruce Pine, NC. After eating we came back to camp and played Uno and Set by the fire. Kimberly washed her hair in the sink in the bathroom (no showers so far). We kept "washing" with Dove refreshing cloths. Time for bed (10:10 PM).
